Week 9 [ 5/9/05 - 11/9/05]

Overview
The Campaign is over.

Epic battles were fought over the surfaces of Carthusia Principes, Carthusia II, Port Ferdinand and Issos, in an attempt to purge once and for all the creep of Chaos darkness and destruction. The tally of the Fallen captured and killed continues to mount– many already on board Strikecruisers heading for unknown destinations. We will learn much from their confessions. We will atone for our past sins by the example of our zeal and dedication.

All planets are largely free from the wholesale incursions that seriously threatened this part of the Imperium. But let us not be complacent. Most of the xeno races have now been expunged from the Carthusia System but a nest of Tyranids still remains on Issos which is a cause for serious alarm and might yet require an orbital exterminatus. And Chaos outposts still surviving within the barren reaches of Carthusia II are being sought out by elite units of local Planetary Defence Forces aided by squads of the Dark Angels.

The tide of war has seared a destructive swathe over most planets. Buildings, land masses and artefacts are being re-consecrated by the Church’s Bishops and Priests. Many captured or desecrated artefacts are deemed too dangerous to handle by the local populace so units of the Unforgiven led by Librarians are being tasked with the recovery of any such items. The Unforgiven chapters’ Techmarines are busily examining captured or abandoned equipment liable to aid the technological advance of the Adeptus Astartes.

Everywhere the normal bodies of rule are reasserting themselves over their vast populations, governments now busy raising taxes to pay for the colossal repair, rearming and recruiting. following the massive loss of manpower and industrial capacity. They are also engaged in negotiations with Imperial officials over reducing tithe dues payable. But that is not our concern.

We must turn our thoughts to the Brothers we have lost in the cause of expunging evil. We must learn from our tactical and strategic errors where they occurred. And we must thank the Emperor for his guidance throughout our endevours.

Until the Sword is reforged.

Despatches Honorum
Flame Master Dragon- for the capture or death of no less than 19 of the Fallen.
ODM- for steering the Ravenwing to victory over Ultramarine imitators.

Week 8 [29/8/05 - 4/9/05]

Overview
With battles raging on four planets events have turned out very favourably for the Unforgiven.

But first a note of caution - Ultramarines (or their imitators) have been encountered on Carthusia Principes, their intentions unknown - but they have drawn blood from a Ravenwing recce force. A similar 'Imperial' chapter was also reported on Carthusia II some weeks past. Take no chances with them. The Unforgiven chapters' are the only sanctioned forces of the Adeptus Astartes in this system.

A series of well-fought actions on Carthusia II against Chaos Legions has seen the enemy's activity severely curtailed. But it is too early to consider this planet as secured. A further push into the northern hinterlands where there is a suspected Warp portal will decide the issue once and for all.

Alketas however is now firmly secured for the Imperium. The last vestiges of Chaos incursion being beaten back into the Warp. In addition several supposed Fallen have been captured and one was killed.

The Tyranid threat on Issos is still worrying and although the planet is largely back under full control of Governor Urtabo, we must be guarded against further gains by these foul xenos, still strong enough to overpower a Deathwing force.
The miasma of evil lies heavily on Issos too. The Cardinals and Bishops doing their utmost to cleanse and purify what had become despoiled and there are still large units of traitor Guard to bring to account.

Port Ferdinand also has problems with renegade PDF units. A Ravenwing recce unit sent to protect a battery of ground-to-space missiles were prevented from securing their objective. Port Ferdinand is still suffering the Chaos onslaught- Governor-in-exile Astorga bravely leads loyal PDF units against the Chaos Legions. The tide is still against him.

Week 7 [22/8/05 - 28/8/05]

Overview
An excellent week's campaigning from the Unforgiven has seen the Chaos and xeno threat virtually neutralised on Telemon and Issos.

A massive engagement against a last stand of the Chaos Legions on Taras Red resulted in an Imperial victory, and the final successful purge of that planet. His Lordship Governor Graw has expressed his deepest gratitude to the Chapters of the Unforgiven for their zeal, purity and ferocity. Local PDF units are now seeking out any remaining Chaos survivors and their renegade allies - the tortured bodies of those rounded-up are executed publicly in all major cities as a lesson against the temptations of the dark ways.

Telemon saw some epic battles too, where we also managed to capture a member of the Fallen. He is currently undergoing interrogation. Interestingly enough have encountered Orks for the first time on this campaign (they were easily routed), what they were doing on Telemon is unclear, we have had no previous knowledge of Orks anywhere near this sector. Although the planet is all but secure we must not be complacent - the ways of chaos and the heretic cannot be predicted - a retaliative strikeback must be planned for.

More of the Fallen were captured on Issos and one was killed too. But the Tyranids are all over the planet, they were held up by a Deathwing force but their advance is usually inexorable, relentless and ultimately totally destructive. They are mankinds' nemesis. We may never regain Issos - planetary virus bombardment possibly the only solution. The conclave of Chapter Masters are considering all options.

The system's second planet Carthusia II is seeing massive Chaos activity, but the actions of the Angels of Fire have thwarted their advances on most fronts. Four of the Fallen were killed in extensive sweeps and three captured. Tyranids are also casting their foul spores, but possibly only an advance force from their main base on Issos.

The only major setback was on Port Ferdinand where traitorous Guard units turned upon the Dark Angels rendezvousing with them and inflicted a defeat. But only after the brave defence of their untenable position was aided by Chaplain Leviticus and his assault squad- buying enough time for a tactical withdrawal. The balance of power on Port Ferdinand has sung away from the Imperium.

+++ We have just received further report indicating a strong force of Daemonhunters on Port Ferdinand. They have just inflicted a sharp defeat upon Strikeforce Vendetta. We are not sure on whose authority these Daemonhunters are operating - but treat them as hostile - give them no quarter.
The roaming traitor Guard force have been defeated, but only after inficting a setback to a DA force tasked with an auspex recon of their strength. It seems that Port Ferdinand might have a few more shocks in store for us. +++

Despatches Honorum
Flame Master Dragon- for the capture or death of no less than 10 of the Fallen.
Captain Arakis- for a victory over Tyranids, Orks, Eldar, Imperial Guard and Blood Angels.
Master Ciaphas- for a relentless campaign against a renegade Imperial Guard force.

Week 6 [15/8/05 - 21/8/05]

Overview
A lot of action, particularly on Taras Red where there were some 22 engagements. The result of this successful onslaught is that this planet is now, for the time being, in Imperial hands once again. But the influence of Chaos hangs heavy here, the high command of the Unforgiven doubting whether the enemy has been entirely beaten back or has just regrouped.
Also of note is that a member of the Fallen (rumoured to be Cypher himself) was captured on Taras Red but using his deceitful and sorcerous ways managed to escape in a stolen Thunderhawk gunship to an unknwon destination. The hunt is on.

Port Ferdinand saw some excellent Unforgiven victories rendering this planet back to full Imperial control. However, His Lordship Governor Vey has expressed misgivings as to the loyalty of a number of PDF regiments under his command, they have shown particular reluctance to redeploy to their alloted battlezones. A bulletin is expected from him soon requesting assistance.

On Telemon a landing by the Ultramarines with Inquisitor allies was thwarted by units of the DA 5th Company. It should be noted that an assassin was present - though what specific orders he had been given is unknown.
The Tyranids have been very active but thank the Emperor without great success. Units of The Lost And The Damned have also been engaged, and rumours tell that the forces of Chaos are sending an unknown message or signal to a Hive Fleet splinter flotilla. If this rumour is founded then the whole Carthusia System is in mortal danger from mankinds oldest enemy.
But the events on Telemon have been very favourable to the Unforgiven- the planet now more-or-less under the Imperial helm once more.

We are seeing many more Imperial Guard units fall under the influence of the Chaos blight. We must be strong brothers and keep our hearts and minds full of the Blessings of the Emperor to remain on the path to full Redemption.

Despatches Honorum
Flame Master Dragon- for the capture or death of no less than 10 of the Fallen.

Week 5 [8/8/05 - 14/8/05]

Overview
The many battles fought this week saw great inroads in loosening the chaos/xeno grip over the Carthusia system.
Telemon again proved to be another heavily contested planet, and with victories on other planets too the forces of the Unforgiven pushed the enemy back on all fronts.
Chaos Legions were again much in evidence this week - but none contained members of the Fallen.

Despatches Honorum
ODM- for two excellent victories with the Ravenwing against the Eldar and an Imperial Guard renegade army.

-----

Week 4 [1/8/05 - 7/8/05]

Overview
Several engagements with enemy forces fought during the week but unfortunately with no overall Unforgiven advantage despite the intervention of the Deathwing on Carthusia II. However of more significance was the sighting of members of the Fallen (twice) on Telemon, both times managing to evade the Dark Angels 5th Company.
Also of interest is the appearence of many more Chaos Legions throughout the system: Tzeench, Emperor's Children and an unknown legion all being encountered.

Despatches Honorum
Grand Master Michael- for completely destroying the denizens of the Tzeench in an epic battle.

-----

Week 3 [25/7/05 - 31/7/05]

Overview
A limited number of engagements fought this week but no Unforgiven losses have been incured, so the chaos/xenos advance has been held for one week.
This represents slow progress. An influx of Chaos Legions are expected in the system soon so we must try an all out assault wherever possible on whatever enemies present themselve sending them back into the Warp.
Telemon has been unusually quiet. There has been plenty of patrol and recce activity but no enemy contact has been reported.
Indeed the main action has centered on Port Ferdinand where a combined Unforgiven battlegroup heroically fought the deadly Necrons to a standstill. Elsewhere on the planet a Deathwing strike force surprised a Tau army with a drop-pod attack, to be followed up a few days later with an attack upon the Tau's fortified encampment. Both resulted in a severe mauling of the Tau and the capture of some highly sensitive Tau communication codes.
The Tau also suffered a serious setback on Carthusia Pricipes from a DA 3rd Company task force commanded by Brother Exar. It is worth noting that a member of the Fallen was present with this xeno force. It seems that the Fallen's insidious web is enmeshing a wider area.

Despatches Honorum
Brother Exar- for capturing a member of the Fallen aiding a Tau incursion force.

-----

Week 2 [18/7/05 - 24/7/05]

Overview
Week two saw the chaos/xenos threat subdued in most planets within the sector.
Telemon seems to have become the main theatre of operation at present, with a couple of excellent victories holding the Unforgiven in the ascendancy.
Carthusia Principes and Carthusia II saw the first clashes so far in the campaign with a mixed set of results. Carthusia II seems a particularly hazardous battlezone. Imperial Space Marine chapters (or their imitators) have gained some initial success here, we must watch out for this worrying development very carefully. And a similarly a Dark Angels imitator chapter has been active on Port Ferdinand but were despatched in short order by elements of the 5th company.
Tyranids have been spotted on Telemon - advance recce groups from the rumoured Hive Fleet no doubt - they seem particularly ruthless.
Elsewhere, the Dark Eldar are again very active but do not offer much resistance to our forces. The Chaos legions are not as evident as we would have hoped for, we can only hope they are in shock after the initial Unforgiven deployment.

Despatches Honorum
Purgatus Extremis- for encountering and destroying a member of the Fallen.

Despatches Intelligencium
+++ Sightings of a large splinter-squadron from a Tyranid Hive Fleet have been reported heading towards Carthusian system space but as yet are unvarified.

Further updates will be posted as information becomes available. +++

Week 1 [11/8/05 - 17/8/05]

Overview
The battles fought during week 1 yielded some excellent results for most planets, many of which regained some semblance of order.
Several crushing victories and the killing of a member of the Fallen on planet Telemon significantly slowed chaos and xenos forces that were making real inroads to near total domination.
However the system's two major planets Carthusia Principes and Carthusia II are still awaiting the arrival of Unforgiven forces strong enough to make any progress.

Despatches Honorum
Captain Arakis- for encountering and destroying a member of the Fallen.
