WITH 31 games recorded, the last week proved to have the second highest number of games played since week 1. And once again this week really did illustrate the point that every game really does count, with, incredibly, a last minute result swinging the campaign from one battle group to another!!
As it is the result was actually a close run thing. And I am pleased to say that each battle group did best in a different area of the campaign – so that means a big thank you from me to the registered players who took part.
Explanation of the results
If the campaign was to be decided on game points only then Unending Pursuit take the honours – just clinging on to to the overall lead through two excellent weeks results early in the series, and despite not recording a result for one week, no mean feat to maintain that lead throughout so well done to them.
But this campaign was about more than just winning. We were on a crusade to hunt (or destroy) Veck and his captured device, and eliminate any cultist groups set up in his wake.
And this is where the other two battle groups did well. By acquiring plenty of these vital bonus points. In case you haven't worked it out – a battle groups campaign points were multiplied by their bonus points to give the final scores as shown in the red boxes.
So you can see that Scything Blade made the greatest effort in collecting bonus points, indicating to me that they grasped the essential point of the campaign very early on. Congratulations to them for playing in the spirit of the campaign so effectively.
But when the dust finally settles, the combination of results and a good clutch of bonus points was enough to swing the overall victory in the direction of one battle group. Maybe justice as that particular group registered the most games played by quite a margin. So, to take the mantle of overall winners, my congratulations to Cleansing Fire.
The final standings:
Over the next couple of days I will put up a list of the active players from each battle Group, so you can see who your mystery battle-brothers were.
