FAQs and Rules
1. How do you take part:
You will need to register if you want to take part in this campaign. You can do this by emailing Registration.
I will need to know the following to register
you:
• Your online or Forum name, ie Isiah, Gman or Master Todius etc etc;
• Your Chapter type or Army type, ie Dark Angels, homemade Blood Angels
Successor, Word Bearers, Grey Knights or your own named Index Astartes Chapter.
(If you want to play with multiple armies that's fine, you only need to register once.)
Note that you will be contacted back to the email address you send your registration from and ONLY to that address.
2. Valid game participants and requirements:
Although hosted largely within the Dark Angels forum section, this campaign is open to any and all 40K armies that are mainly power armour-based:
• All Space Marine Chapters;
• Ordos Inquisition;
• Adepta Sororitas;
• Apeptus Mechanicus;
• All Chaos Legions.
In fact the more diverse the participants the better. However xeno Commanders
may not register to participate, but obviously xeno armies can be fought against.
You must also have access to the internet to check on the campaigns progress
and for any updates, and access to email to send in your results.
3. Team allocation:
When you have registered, you will be allocated to one of three teams - essentially 'Battle Groups' - within which you will be competing against the other two teams. As this allocation will be done randomly one of the three teams might well end up bigger than others, that's just the luck of the draw. Once in a team you can't swap out. Initially you will not know the other members of your team, but as the campaign progresses you will learn more about others of your own Battle Group. Clever members will of course find other means to find out who is in which Battle Group and that's fine by me.
4. Fighting your battles:
When you have registered and have been allocated a team you can set forth across the Galaxy in your hunt for Veck. This is not a map-based campaign. You can play any mission and any opponent you like, similarly there are no restrictions on army size etc. All you need to do is email your results when the battle has been fought and your endeavors will take their place in the bigger picture. You may fight as many or as few games as you are able during the course of the campaign, but please enter the results for at least one game.
5. Valid game formats:
• Warhammer 40k and all sub-variants;
• Epic;
• Battlefleet Gothic;
• Dawn of War.
6. Posting your results:
After your battle(s), you can post your results by again emailing me. The results will be updated weekly (usually Monday evening) on the main campaign site and within this campaign topic thread within the B&C. PLEASE BE HONNEST WITH YOUR RESULTS.
1 The date the game was fought;
2 Your Registered Name;
3 Your allocated Battle Group;
4 The chapter of your army (ie Angels of Vengeance or Ravenwing etc);
5 Your opponents name or nickname;
6 Your opponents army type or chapter (ie: Tau or Chaos Night Lords etc);
7 The Result- simply state Win, Draw or Loss. I am not interested in actual
points;
You can also provide a short batrep of no more than 30 words to accompany your results if you wish such as
“Despite the appalling odds against attacking such a strongly-held position, we fought heroically and eventually overcame, in the name of the Unforgiven” or:
“The Khorne attacked us mercilessly and caused serious casualties. Squad Herial made a stern rearguard action enabling us to make a fighting withdrawal”.
The best of these will be published on the campaign website. And if you have access to a digital camera then feel free to send in a pic or two with your result. Image size no more than 700x500 pixels which is approximately 1000K (1MB) please.
It's as simple as that.
7. Winners and losers:
As players will be allocated to a team so the winners will be in the team that scores the most points, the losers in the team that scores the least. Points will be awarded for wins, draws and losses. After the first week campaign expands and additional points will be awarded for specific campaign-related objectives. These expansions will be publicised in the +WAR ROOM+ page and within the campaign thread on the Bolter and Chainsword.
8. Random scoring system:
Before determining weekly results totals scores will be randomised using a special mechanism I have devised. This is to safeguard against possible abuse of entering non-varifiable results.
9. When does the campaign start and finish?
Campaign will be fought over 6 weeks:
• First battles fought on Sunday August 5th.
• The campaign will last until at least Sunday Ocober 14th.
10. Are there any special scenario rules or other restrictions?
Initially no. But new scenarios will be announced throughout the campaign as it progresses.
