Using Relictors in your battles

This Chapter has always seen Chaos artefacts and weapons as things to be used against their previous owners. And it would seem, if rumours are to be believed, that a squad of Space Marines said to be survivors of the Relictors, have become involved with Veck – for whatever reason – and have appeared on battlefields during the campaign, sometimes with Veck, sometimes without, but always brandishing the foul weapons and Standards of the Chaos Legions, harnessing their dark powers for their own ends.

Whatever the reason for their presence, you can use Relictors in your battles by allowing your opponent to field them in his army. Note that they may NOT be used in a Necron, Ork or Tyranid army. They are used as an Adversary, fighting against any force registered in the Destroy:Veck Campaign.

Relictors as an Adversary

Including Relictors in our enemy's army is an excellent gaming twist, and the very excuse that you are fighting them in the first place (they are on Veck's side so we understand). So I have two ways of including them for those who intend to use the Relictors as an adversary to any army embarked upon the Destroy:Veck campaign.

A few groundrules first. They may only be in an opponents army. They are treated exactly as if they were a part of your opponents army, although they may not form the compulsory part of the force organisation chart.

If you don't have a unit of painted Relictors handy don't worry, you can use any Space Marine models you have, even what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) rules are waived here to allow maximum freedom to include them. But your opponent must tell you what weapons/wargear his Relictors have before the game commences to stop any later confusion.

Note that in order to use these Relictors as Adversary rules you must have access to Codex: Space Marines and to Codex: Chaos Space Marines (pre August 2007 version).

The Relictor options

0-1 Fugitive Squad [Troop choice] points vary.
You may field a squad of Relictors as per the entry for a Tactical Squad on page 34 of Codex: Space Marines.

Retinue: The squad may form the Retinue for Veck. If it does then one member of the squad may be nominated the bearer of a Chaos Banner for the cost of 50 points. Throw a D6 before the game commences to determine what type of Banner he will carry. Full rules and details may be found in Codex: Chaos Space Marines.

D6 Roll and Banner

Bonus Points

If you manage to render the Relictors Squad non point scoring then you will gain a bonus point for your Battle Group.
