Chronicler Isiah is the codename of a trooper in the first squad, 4th company.
He has been given the task of recording the exploits of a garrison of Dark Angels during a posting, and has been given authority to transmit reports directly to the Inner Circle, and Imperial Headquarters without the oversight of the Interrogator-Chaplain accompanying the force.
But his real identity and purpose remain a mystery

The author has been inducted into the Inner Circle. This is a group of like-minded
individuals dedicated to the furtherance of the Dark Angels and Unforgiven
Chapters within the Warhammer 40K gaming community.
This is a great honour, uncalled for and unexpected.
Origins of The Inner Circle
Who these mysterious characters are, who work behind the scenes to promote
the Unforgiven agenda?
The fall of the year 2002 saw the formation of a group of small but closely
knit and dedicated Dark Angel players which in my opinion would transform
the Dark Angel experience forever. Four friends who had never met each other
but had known and worked together on the world wide web for the bnefit of
the Dark Angels were brought together by Owen Rees with his idea of a real
life Inner Circle.
All four had been deeply involved in the Dark Angels from their background,
to modelling, gaming and involvement in their development. Soon after another
two were inducted. Four of the six were web masters of their own Dark Angels
web sites, two worked for Games Workshop and four were moderators at the B+C
Dark Angels forum at which all six were regular posters.
The aim of the union was to form a core group to develop ideas, develop their
rich history further and generally oversee and manage Dark Angel related events
that we were hoping to conduct. It also coincided with the upcoming Eye of
Terror campaign the following year.
That event became a focus for the Inner Circle as we gradually developed the
concept of a Dark Angel and Unforgiven campaign to be conducted within the
EOT campaign. Suffice to say that the subsequent Gathering of Angels campaign
was a great success from our point of view.
The Inner Circle was based on Owen Rees' "Outpost" Dark Angel web
site until sadly owen had to close his site due to his extensive commitment
leading Games Workshop's UK Web Design Team – and more recently, his
role as Editor of the UK White Dwarf. Thus the Inner Circle has shifted its
Headquarters to the Fortress of the Unforgiven and continues to serve the
Unforgiven.
