Deathwing Squad Banners 'Legion' Pattern

Shown below are a selection of squad banners used by the Deathwing prior to the adoption of bone-coloured armour.

The design is known as the 'Legion' pattern- so called due to their close resemblance to the banners presented to the First Company at the First Founding. Used for many millennia they were first superseded by new banners during the Armageddon Wars, and again by the current 'Gabriel' pattern.

Carried by the most trusted Deathwing sergeants on a retractable banner pole, they served as both rallying and focal points for squad battle-brothers when in the heat of battle and as revered icons during Chapter ceremonies.
